Long-range shooters now have the stability and flexibility they’ve been searching for in one small bipod, the Swagger SFR10 bipod. This bipod was designed for long-range hunting, competition shooting and long-range shooting. The feature that sets the SFR10 apart is its ability to quickly acquire a target and load while still tracking that target in any terrain. Predator hunters, prairie dog hunters and many others have raved over the effectiveness of the SFR10s while in the field because of their mobility and the ability to remove the bipod quickly when needed. The SFR10’s modular leg technology allows each leg’s active tension to create a desired range of motion. When shooting at the range or during a competitive situation, flexibility allows transitioning from target to target. If shooting longer range, the SFR10 allows shooters to go from a flexible bipod to a solid rest with a push of a button. The SFR10 adjusts from 6 to 10.5 inches, with a quick detach lever to remove the bipod quickly. SFR10 mounts directly to Picatinny rail systems. MSRP is $249.99. While lead jigs have done the trick for years, tungsten is thing this spring – notably Northland’s new Tungsten Crappie King. Crappie King Jigs bring expertly designed, faster falling baits for crappies in transition. Available in two sizes, the 1/16 ounce (No. 8 hook) and 1/8 ounce (No. 6 hook) these jigs are designed for versatility to intercept crappies migrating from deeper basins to spawning areas. There’s no depth during the spring crappie migration that Crappie King Jigs haven’t caught fish, say Northland’s panfish expert, Joel Nelson. Tungsten Crappie King jigs quickly became his “go to” jig for crappies and bluegills after the first beta-tests. They replaced other jigs in his line-up, because the jig fishes so well below a pencil float without need for anything but the weight of the jig. Tungsten heads are 30% denser than lead. Crappie King Jigs come in black, Super-Glo white, olive, Super-Glo pinky, Bubblegum, Sunrise, Super-Glo Moonlight and Parakeet. MSRP is $6.49 for two jigs on a card. With shotgun technology and advancement spanning centuries, leading to today’s ultra-sophisticated designs, it’s easy to believe shotgun performance has reached its zenith. “Not so fast,” says Benelli. The company has introduced a new Advanced Impact (AI) technology to shotgun ballistics that it says improves performance by delivering shot downrange faster, harder and with a denser pellet configuration than traditional shotgun barrel designs. The key to Benelli’s AI is new ballistic contours integrated into barrel bores. These new contour designs combine with Benelli’s new Crio chokes to create an enhanced shot column velocity and energy. The further the shot travels from the muzzle, the greater the difference from standard barrel ballistics. For example, ballistic testing showed a 4% increase in velocity and 6% increase in energy at 3 feet past the muzzle compared to a standard shotgun barrel. By the time the shot traveled 65 yards, velocity increased 42% and energy 77%. Whether the intent clay busting or bringing down waterfowl, such an increase is a game-changer in terminal performance. To bring this technology to market, Benelli is introducing the AI system in three new Performance Shop ETHOS-series models, the Supersport AI, Sport AI and Cordoba AI. The Supersport is competition shotgun with a 30-inch barrel in 2-3/4- and 3-inch chambers. The Sport is similar but offers a walnut stock and fore end. The Cordoba is designed for both competition and hunting, with a 28-inch barrel and 2-3/4- and 3-inch chambers.
Performance Shop ETHOS MSRP ranges from to $3,199 to $3,699 and more depending on options. Visit BenelliUSA.com.
